Chile Trip Day (part 1)
|
Dear Friends of Decanter,
When you received this email, I might still on my way to the exotic land whose wine heritage can be traced to 460 years ago - or perhaps I'm already there and still nurturing an unbearable jet lag, or even already getting lost in one of the wine bars in Santiago...
Yes, I'm going to Chile - a country where cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay really shines, but in my research trip this time I really want to learn about a grape variety that has lured me since long time ago yet rarely found outside Chile; carmenere.
This year I have gone twice for research; to South Africa and Austria but I didn't have any chance to share my great experience with you. This time I will try my best to taste as many carmenere as I can and I will share with you all the photos, tasting notes, and interesting story via this email blast. I will also take notes on how carmenere goes with different kind of food and different kind of mood (mind you I always plan to party wherever I go :-))
Cheers!
